It's a full day's drive to Harrison Hot Springs if you meander through the wonderfully peaceful countryside and taking the advantage of the many interesting stops along the slower back roads, but without stop its 2 and half hours from Vancouver. You can stay to take a dip in the Harrison Resort's public mineral pool (but other activities are limited to resort guests), windsurf or kayak on arrison Lake or visit nearby attractions. For hours of walking and hiking you can explore one of the area's parks which include Sasquatch Provincial Park and Kilby Provincial Park or Minter Gardens which is a floral showcase. Steveston
Steveston, once it was one of the biggest fishing port in the world with more than 50 canneries. It is still Canada's largest port with more than 1000 vessels; more of them are commercial fishing boats. This quaint fishing village is 30 minutes from downtown Vancouver. It is a colorful place still smells the fish and history. Shopping and amazing fresh fish and beautiful views are the main attractions for Steveston. Getting Victoria from Vancouver by ferry or air is half the fun. Victoria is Capital city of British Columbia. The ferry ride through Active Pass and the southern Golf Island takes 1 hour and 35 minutes, but allow at least 3 hours travel time from downtown to downtown. Whistler is located 120 km / 75 miles and half North of Vancouver. Highway 99, running north from Vancouver to whistler's four season resort is an adventure in itself. Views of beautiful Howe Sound and Garibaldi Provincial Park among others make this highway one of the most photogenic in British Columbia. Whistler offers visitors endless activities.
