Although the Chinese-Canadian population of Vancouver is spread throughout the Lower Mainland, the old Chinatown is still alive and interesting area to visit and shop in. From Chinatown you will get the idea of the architecture of Vancouver in the first few decades of 20th century. Many of buildings there are built by Chinese artisans in a style that can not be found anywhere else outside China. During summer there's a night market at Main and Keefer. Once known as little Italy, but now is the fusion of many different cultures. The Italian Cultural Centre is still the hub of Italian community, but many other Latin, Caribbean and Asian peoples live in the area and store along "the Drive" reflect this diversity. The downtown core is located in the heart of Vancouver. In Burnaby, MetroTown contains MetroTown Centre, Metropolis and Station Square. This are features more than 550 shops and 22 motion picture theaters. Because the mall is right on the SkyTrain route, a visit can be an important part of your shopping experience. You can start and end in downtown Vancouver and in between take the SkyTrain out to MetroTown. The crystal Mall, 4500 Kingsway, is a 200-store mall and office complex. Oakridge Shopping Centre
