The Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory is home to 2, 000 free flying butterflies within it's glass enclosed conservatory rainforest located north of Niagara Falls at the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens. Outside, is the native butterfly garden. Located above the Niagara Falls, Dufferin Islands is another spot for bird watching. It has 10 acres for you to explore. The area has been improved with the introduction of fish, bird feeding stations, bird boxes and replanting of indigenous vegetation. Located 1.6km south of Rainbow Bridge on Niagara River Parkway at Table Rock Point, Journey Behind the Falls takes you to the base of the Horseshoe Falls using elevators. At the base of Horseshoe Falls are 3 tunnels to give you a close up view of Horseshoe Falls and the Niagara River. At the 38m (125 ft) level below the Gorge Embankment is the Observation Plaza which is also 8m (26 ft) above the Niagara River's edge.
