The Quays of Old Port are elevated piers to accommodate the transatlantic liners that mour in Montreal. Clock Tower Quay, originally built in 1916 and named Victoria Pier, has one warehouse left from it's former days, the Yacht Club Montreal and the Clock Tower which has 192 steps to a view of Montreal and the St. Lawrence River. Bonsecours Basin turns into a skating rink in the winter, in the summer putter around the basin in pedal boats. Jacques-Cartier Quay holds large events such as the Reggae Festival and Canada Day celebrations. Telus uses this quay for their Telus Fire on Ice fireworks display in the winter. King Edward Quay is home to the Montreal Science Centre with exhibition halls, the IMAX®Telus Theatre, restaurants and boutiques. Conveyor Quay has a pond, the Eau-Canada garden and Veb Aventure/Zap Montreal. Alexandra Quay is the maritime terminal for large transatlantic cruise ships during the summer and fall. The Lachine Canal is used by pleasure crafts to view Montreal's scenery from the water and experience locking. Parc Olympique de Montreal is where the XXI Olympic games where held. The park has a stadium, the Montreal Tower, sports centre, fields and outside grounds. The Olympic Stadium Sports Centre has 6 pools, fitness centre and a multi sport room. The competition pool is 50 by 25 metres, the training pool is 50 metres and there are also a warm up pool, diving pool and wading pool. The Montreal Tower is the highest inclined tower of the world. It has an elevation of 175 metres and 45 degree angle. The Observatory, cocktail room and Salon Montreal reception hall occupy the top 3 floors of the Montreal Tower which you access by a 2 level glass funicular.
